Dear Grace Church,

The Lord is our protector. The world tries to tell us that we are no good and have no value, that we are not worthy of His salvation. This is a lie. Despite our sin or our struggles, God is still our protector. He still longs for our salvation. He provides for us.

Sermon Series

This week I will cover Psalm 4. This is sometimes called an evening prayer. In ways this Psalm is a review of a day and a final prayer. There is a spiritual practice calle

Dear Grace Church,

Jesus is King, Messiah and Son. The fallen people of this world will rage against his rule and dominion. We want to rebel until we understand that His ways are the best. For some reason, we have difficult time trusting His ways. When we do, we should not be surprised when people resist us.

Sermon Series

This week I will cover Psalm 3. This is a Psalm of prayer/protection. Tradition indicates that David wrote this prayer in response to fleeing from

Dear Grace Church,

I delight on the Law of the Lord and on His law, I meditate day and night. We are challenged to focus in on the Royal Law of Christ: To love God and to love others. We would do well to meditate on how this Royal Law plays out in our lives. This way of living out our lives plants us deeply in God and allows us to produce fruit.

Sermon Series

This week I will preach on Psalm 2. This is a Royal Psalm. It was liturgy repeated at the ascension of kings

Dear Grace Church,

We are to endure as we see God’s plan working out in our lives. This can be challenging. Prayer and confession are necessary components of a life lived in the middle. We must not forget these powerful tools for the believer in Christ. They orient us back to Kingdom principles and values. We could use a time of honest confession.

Sermon Series

This week I will move on to preaching Liturgy for Life as observed in the Psalms. I will be speaking on t

Dear Grace Church,

Patience is an answer to the injustice of life. Patience does not mean nonaction, rather it is waiting trusting in the Lord to accomplish His will. He will. God is the only One worthy of putting our trust. All the pursuits of this world will turn to rust, but the one who trusts in the Lord will not be put to shame.

Sermon Series

This week I will finish up our series on James. I will preach on James 5:13-20. I will be preaching on the importance of

Dear Grace Church,

We can only boast in Christ. We tend to boast about our future, finances, or opportunities, but ultimately, we must realize that we only have Jesus, and we only need Jesus. Jesus is not only our Savior, but He is also our Lord.

Sermon Series

This week I will cover James 5:1-12. In this passage James reminds us that we will suffer because of following Christ, and he gives us good ways to look at our lives as we endure.

Dear Grace Church,

True wisdom comes from above. We can be wise and learned in the ways of this world, but we must remember the Heavenly Wisdom is often diametrically opposed to the way the world works. True wisdom comes from a settled peaceful heart, worldly wisdom comes from bitter jealousy and selfish ambition.

Sermon Series

This week Dennis will be preaching from James 4:1-12. In this passage we are given some ideas on how to interact with each other in a Godly

Dear Grace Church,

Controlling the tongue is a keystone habit in our lives according to James. He says our speech dictates our lives and the direction of our lives. Our choice is whether we are destructive or constructive with our words. Sometimes truthful words do damage others, but our words must damage for good not for evil.

 Sermon Series

This week I will preach on James 3:13-18. In this passage we are given a view of what true wisdom is and where it comes from. This v

Dear Grace Church,

Genuine faith works. It is our works that reveal the level of faith we have. We could never be saved by our works, but our works should change because of our faith. If we are different, then we are different. Our faith transforms us. We must take some time to look underneath our actions and understand our philosophy that drives our actions.

Sermon Series

This week I will cover James 3:1-12. In this passage James tells us controlling our speech is

Dear Grace Church,

What are we seeking? It is normal to seek success or wealth or power. However, Jesus told us to seek first the Kingdom of God. This is challenging to do because the ways of the Kingdom do not always seem clear. The Kingdom becomes clear as we live out its standards. God calls us to live as we were intended to live.

 Sermon Series

This week I will get back to preaching through the book of James. I will talk about a faith that works in James 2:14-26. In this

Dear Grace Church,

Love is an often used, but little understood word. Love encompasses a conceptual realm that defies true definition. We are told that God is love. To understand love, we must understand that way God manifests his love. Jesus is that very manifestation. When we love others, we are operating in Godly ways. However, we must love God in order to love others.

Dear Grace Church,

Joy proceeds from the lasting salvation we have in Jesus Christ. In many ways, Joy is the opposite of a cynical attitude. The cynical approach to life clogs our ability to relish in the joy of the Lord. Cynicism is the mindset of culture and creates fear of allowing the emotion of joy from penetrating deep into our consciousness. Joy is salvation and salvation has come.

Sermon Series

This week I will preach on love. Love is one of the themes of Advent an

Dear Grace Church,

When we are at peace in the world, we find that we lack peace with God. Lasting peace comes only through our continued relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus came to bring peace, but he did not come to reconcile us to the world. He came to reconcile us to God. We are at peace only when we operate within the Kingdom.

This week I will be speaking on Advent joy. I will preach from Luke 15. Where does our joy come from? How can we have joy? Is C

Dear Grace Church,

Jesus is the hope of the World, and he is the guarantor of our hope for life. This hope we have is sure and solid. It allows us to endure any challenge that might face us. We do not simply endure through challenges; we find that in Christ we will thrive. We must look beyond the noise around us and remember the hope we have in Christ.

Dear Grace Church,

Thankfulness is an essential posture for the believer. This can be challenging because life circumstances can be difficult. The primary thing we should be thankful for is God’s hessid. This is God’s steadfast love, grace, and mercy towards His creation. He rescues and delivers us from our sorrow and pain.

Sermon Series

Originally, I had intended to continue in James, but I am going to transition to the Advent topics this Christmas season. The first week wil
