Stephen Ministry

If you, or someone you know, could benefit from having a Stephen Minister come alongside you during a difficult time
please contact Donna Hays at 770-356-5734. All communications are strictly confidential.

There are nine Stephen Ministers that have been commissioned at Grace Church. These nine people have been through six months and 50 hours of specialized training in Christian caregiving. These Care Givers have been trained  to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to those experiencing a crisis or going through a difficult time. They meet weekly with their Care Receiver for about an hour to listen, care, encourage, pray, and provide emotional and spiritual support for the person. Caring relationships last for as long as the person’s need persists. Please lift up our new Stephen Ministers in your prayers, asking that God bless their ministry and work through them to bring hope and healing to those they will serve.
Stephen Ministers are the After People.  They are ready to come alongside you – or your friends, neighbors, coworkers, or relatives – and provide comfort and support for as long as After is needed.

What is Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations that use the Stephen Series system. Stephen Ministry congregations equip and empower lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.

HOW STEPHEN MINISTRY WORKS?

The best way to understand how Stephen Ministry works is to learn about three groups of people involved in this ministry: Stephen Leaders, Stephen Ministers (Care Givers), and Care Receivers.
