How Will We Know When Jesus is Coming Back?
A New Kingdom
Jesus' life and ministry ushers in a new aspect of the Kingdom of God, where "The Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood (John 1:14 MSG). God is ever-present and among us, yet spiritual warfare and physical chaos rage around us. Where is Jesus? When can we expect his return? What should our posture be until that time of Christ's return?
In Mark 13: 1-23, Jesus reminds his disciples several times to "be on your guard," he further reminds them "do not be alarmed," and to "endure." How do we remain on guard without fear? How do we endure? What emotions do these verses evoke from you?

The way Mr. Wright explains it is somewhat different than the way I have learned or been taught Christ's return. Maybe it's because of his reference to the Western World. I think I agree that yes, we should be on guard and not fear his return. I know that no one knows the time of Jesus' return and it appears that people differ on how we believe the event will take place.
Thanks for engaging, Brian! This topic can certainly be controversial, especially in our culture, which has been heavily influenced by the Left Behind series. I agree that the most important aspect is for us to be on guard, with our minds, hearts, and actions.
