Revealing

Babylon’s day has come.  God spoke to them through Daniel’s translation of the writing on the wall, “Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin” (Daniel 5:25-28).

God also spoke through Isaiah in chapter 47.  The Babylonians were partying and feasting with implements meant to be holy.  They felt their success in battle over Israel equated to Israel’s God being weak.  They were wrong.

Pay close attention to Daniel 47:10-11.  God calls out the evil and He will correct the problem.  Many who do evil thing they can get away with it.  For a time, they seem to, but God is not fooled.  The check always comes due.

Think about the evil you see in the world today.  Generally, you are powerless to deal with it.  How does that powerlessness make you feel?  How does it make you feel toward God?

Babylon was an evil empire, and we know that God judged them.  He cares for the righteous and rules with justice.

Do you fully trust God to deal with the evil in this world?

How does full appreciating God’s trustworthiness affect the way you interact with the world around you?
Verse 4 for All Creatures of our God and King by St. Francis of Assisi

And all ye men of tender heart,
Forgiving others, take your part,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Ye who long pain and sorrow bear,
Praise God and on Him cast your care!
Refrain:
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
